Pedrolino, a stock character from the Italian Commedia dell'arte with roots in the mid-16th century, became known as Pierrot after the character gained popularity in France. In the mid-1970s, Butler and Wilson designed a series of jewelry pieces featuring Pierrot, which may have inspired this version.
The pin is crafted from ivory-colored plastic, with hand-painted details. A soft skin tone is applied to the face and hands, adding a subtle lifelike quality to the stylized figure.
