A single shamrock reaches from its crescent moon resting place on this lovely late Victorian brooch. The leaves are highly detailed and centered by a pearl. The crescent is a matte finish otherwise known as bloom gold. The effect is achieved by an acid treatment which eliminates all metals leaving just the gold. The brooch features a hook from which a watch can be suspended.
