Victorian Agate Wax Seal Large Watch Fob/Charm

Precisely carved in agate stone on this watch fob/charm is an elaborate scene set with large trees and bushes along a fence. In a full run, a fox is looking behind as if to see if there is a follower. It reads STOLE AWAY. Curves of gilt metal decorate the top of this generously sized fob while a grooved band holds the agate intaglio.

This fob was decorative as well as a utilitarian . Its sturdy design to take repeated use as a a stamp to seal envelopes and impart the design in hot wax.

The fob can still be used as a stamp or as a charm on a bracelet.
