Mary Schimpff Mid-Century Gilt Sterling Silver Pin/Brooch

Mary Schimpff is an accomplished jeweler that often worked with her mother, Frances, early in her career. Everything piece that Mary creates is hand constructed with a great perfection. This wonderful example of her work is a bit of departure but still captures the uniqueness seen in her designs.

Shown in a mirror images, the center shield displays a bearded gentleman wearing a laurel wreath headpiece. Atop the shield is an armored knight and above the knight is a resting and curled serpent/snake with curled leaves that flow downward. The entire piece is expertly hand constructed in gilt sterling.
