The grand asymmetrical design with sweeping curves give clues as to the 1940s era of origin.  During this decade yellow gold was popular and to give costume jewelry that appearance a gold wash was often applied to sterling silver as seen in this clip. Arched emerald green rhinestones line the top of this sterling silver vermeil fur clip by Ciner while clear rhinestones provide sparkling accents.

Founded by Emanuel Ciner in 1892, the Ciner began as a fine jewelry company and did not make costumer jewelry until 1931. This wonderful example is an early one and as a fur/pin clip is a rare form.
