Ugo Correani Venetian Mask Rhinestone Pin/Brooch

This appears to be a recast of the well sought after 1940s Mazer Venetian Mask. The design patent number 95441 stamped on this brooch has been found on other Mazer masks from the same period. Because not all rhinestones are set flush, the back is not highly polished and there is metal remaining in some of the cutouts are reasons to conclude that it is not an original but was created from a cast of the Mazer mask.

This one is hallmarked marked U. Correani for Ugo Correani and it is stunning. The rhinestones emit a brilliant sparkle from every angle of this brooch. A talented designer, Ugo Correani worked for Gianni Versace in the 1980s .
