Hand hammered brass frames a majestic tiger on this turn of the century pin. The tiger holds a rose cut dark glass amethyst in its open mouth. Two red glass cabochons are the deep peering eyes. The inspiration for the subject matter may have been the British Raj which was the rule of the British Crown in the Indian subcontinent. A period of time which also brought about the popularity of tiger claw jewelry.
