The influence of the aesthetic movement is noticeable in the calm Japonaiserie water scene on the front of this lovely Victorian era locket. The minute and incredible detail was accomplished by the hand of a skilled artisan. Embracing the outer edge, dotted recesses alternate rose gold, yellow gold and platinum. This same quality of etching is evident in the beautifully designed monogram on the reverse. The locket is held in balance by scroll decorated arch.
