Trifari 1940s Scarce Sterling Jelly Belly Sailfish Fur Pin Clip
SKU: 3857Some of the most sought after costume jewelry from the 1940s are jelly bellys. These wonderful creations often use clear lucite as the belly of an animal such as this one.
This wonderful example was designed by Norman Bel Geddes for Trifari and the design was patented August 26, 1941. In typical fashion, the belly is clear lucite. Small clear rhinestones cover the head and wrap around the tail. The large sail fin and tail are sterling silver with a wash giving it a golden color. A red glass bullet cabachon eye is the finishing touch.
