Victorian Gold Filled Garnet Hoop Earrings

A single oval garnet is suspended in the center of each of these lovely Victorian era earrings. Geometrically shaped metal creates a half hoop from which the garnet hangs and it also holds the larger oval form. A ribbed decoration makes what would be plain hoops to a more interesting presentation. The wire hooks clasp at the front of the earrings.

If you haven't viewed Victorian gold filled jewelry before, it very much looks gold and does not wear easily due to a difference in manufacturing from today's jewelry.
