Victorian Etruscan Revival 14k Gold Locket Pendant
SKU: 8119The Italian excavation of Etruscan treasures sparked interest in these artifacts and influence jewelry styles. With classic Etruscan revival style, this large Victorian pendant locket is beautifully decorated with incredible detail. In a cross formation, nine pearls adorn the center of this wonderful piece. Fine metal wire work and granulation decorates the pendant. Both of these elements are often seen in ancient Etruscan jewelry. The matte finished otherwise known as blooming is achieved by applying acid to burn off alloy metals leaving behind a thin layer of pure gold. On the reverse, a locket is available. A truly incredible example of Victorian Etruscan revival jewelry. The bale has a purposeful slight bend to accommodate the chain so that the locket lays flat.
