Trifari Sterling Silver Vermeil Aquamarine Rhinestone Crescent Pin Brooch
SKU: 9089AA Trifari 1940s sterling silver vermeil aquamarine rhinestone crescent pin brooch is a beautiful example of retro modern costume jewelry. Aquamarine was a popular gemstone during the retro era. Keeping with the trend, this brooch features the rhinestone version of the stone. Each rhinestone is hand set securely with prongs along the interior of the crescent. Decorative pierced panels of vermeil sterling fan the outside curve. The panels are embellished with round crystal rhinestones.
The brooch was filed by Alfred Philippe and patented in 1946 with patent number 145258. Although this pin is scarce, this color combination version is rarer .
The use of sterling during WWII was due to the metal restrictions. A wonderful example of WWII vintage jewelry.
