Rose of Sharon is a name that refers to several different species of flowering plants and has biblical roots. Jewelry with the same name was at the height of popularity during the 1860s-1880s. The more common rings were often tokens of love. The pendants are not as common.

An intricately decorated frame holds a beautifully faceted amethyst that features a golden flower set with rose cut diamonds on this remarkable Victorian pin/pendant. Hand crafted leaf like forms are applied on the sides and bottom. Adorning the very top is a large decorative ribbon bow with a pearl center. This piece is a generous size and can be worn as a pin or a pendant.
